"Het militaire verzet begon een jaar geleden met een groepje van 41 Israëlische reservisten die weigerden om deel te nemen aan de militaire aanval op Rafah in het zuiden van de Gazastrook. Ze vonden dat de aanhoudende oorlog Israëlische gijzelaars en onschuldige burgers in gevaar bracht en riepen op tot diplomatieke onderhandelingen. Het verzet had een sneeuwbaleffect binnen de krijgsmacht."
