My thread on #PBS's #AncientEarth series has me thinking that #PHD #physicist #RebeccaSmethurst may be overly optimistic in her calculations regarding the possibility of there being life as we know it existing elsewhere in the #universe.

Learning how many flukes of #geology it's taken for life on #Earth to survive may leave only thousands of planets with life at all, fewer with beings with whom we might communicate.
