I have just returned from the archery range. At first my shooting was appalling. I was lucky not to have to look for arrows in the grass. I stuck at it, slowly worked out what I was doing wrong and I managed sorted the problem out by the time I finished. The last 3 ends were the best ones of the afternoon.

I might have to bite the bullet and buy some sort of gillet so I can keep warm without the bow string snagging on the sleeves of a hoodie or coat when I shoot

All in all it was time well spent. Now for a long soak in a hot bath.

Spent a very pleasant morning in the sunshine at the archery range. Met one of the new club members for the first time and let him have a go with one of my longbows. I think I have converted him to traditional archery.

I spent an very enjoyable evening teaching people how to make #wooden #arrows. Basically fitting piles and nocks and #fletching shafts. I even had handouts and everything.

It was really good to pass on the result of my trial and error and Youtube learning. I think everyone liked it.

Spent the afternoon in my #shed on my #allotment. I was #fletching some new #arrows for my #longbow. I even managed to do spliced fletchings, which look really smart and dandy.
