🎄 #AdventOfCode is a great way to develop your programming skills, since it makes you think about problem-solving in a different way than you're used to (at least for me).
Any #Rchaeologists participating this year?

Hello #Rchaeologists !
We are looking to (re-)introduce online meetups in the community. These can either be general hangouts or presentations on specific topics.
Let us know if this is something you would participate in:
Remember you can join our list of #Rchaeologists
Do it. It's where all the cool kids are. 😎
It looks like there are many budding #Rchaeologists on mastodon.
If you are looking for resources to get started, we have compiled a focused list here: https://rchaeology.github.io/resources/beginners/
and an archaeology-specific list here: https://rchaeology.github.io/resources/archaeology/

#Introduction time!
We are a community of archaeologists who are anywhere from novice to avid #Rstats users!
We boost archaeological research using R for any part of the analysis (if it's open!), and occasionally post useful (and often useless) tips on using R.
We're also creating a list to help #Rchaeologists find each other.

Most simple DIY webapp to bulk follow Rchaeologist accounts on Mastodon. Originally by David Adler, Thomas Haase & Hendrik Erz. Published as https://trutzig89182.github.io/Mastodon-Sociologists...
It's been a while, but I can finally get back to working on using R for ground-penetrating radar data (using the RGPR package). It's been absolutely incredible so far and the developer is very happy to communicate features and fixes. My goal by Christmas is to wrap it in a Shiny app for ease of use.

@nicky_garland In my defence my mum and brother live in Kansas City and I grew up in north-eastern Kansas, so I'm not a fair-weather fan! We've suffered a lot to enter the sunny uplands of playoff wins and Super Bowls :D
Although I'm an early medievalist, I used some R magic on Iron Age and Roman material to establish background patterns for my thesis. There are a few #Rchaeologists on here now, so I'm really excited
