In these striking times it doesn't help how useless the train companies are. A ticket booked in November for a train at a particular time (as that is how it works when you have to have a reservation), the train is cancelled/moved for whatever reason and the reservation lost and the ticket itself may or may not be accepted. So a new ticket is bought and a new reservation but the seat is in an unreserved carriage and the person sitting in it isn't going to move.

Tories deliberately scuppered a deal to end the rail strike with a last minute clause that added new working conditions.

That intervention has prolonged the strike.

Meanwhile, Tories spend our taxes (money they say we can't afford to pay to nurses) to compensate private train operating companies & protect their profits during the strike.

They're taking us for a ride.
