It is the height of arrogance to believe that you ALWAYS know what is best for another person.

Even if that person is your own child.

Their voice matters.

Yes, as a parent you sometimes have to make a tough call. But trust your child that they know, on some level, what they need most. There is always room for exploration and collaboration.

My kid's first grade english classes are garbage. At home we speak spanish and French and they do not have any English speaking pals. I teach them words during breakfast but I don’t want to overwhelm them with too much extracurricular learning on top of their homework. So I’m gonna to start letting them watch 30 minutes of something in English per week on top his weekly screen allowance. I myself learned English watching Sesame Street but I’ve tried that and they are not into it. So I’m seeking recommendations for fun and rad programs devoid of sexism and gory violence for a 6-7 year old kid. Could be adventure shows, nothing overtly pedagogical but something they’d be into. They love pirates, ninjas, medieval shit etc. Thx in advance.
