For National Library Month, we're celebrating archives and the power of archival activism!

How can archival research become a tool of resistance? Teach students about the power of storykeeping as a form of activism and truth-telling with the ๐™๐™ฃ๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ ๐™š๐™ฃ Learning Guide.

๐™๐™ฃ๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ ๐™š๐™ฃ weaves together oral history, primary source documents and records, diaries, maps, and archival images to preserve voices that might otherwise have been lost into a multi-sensory experience.

The ๐™๐™ฃ๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ ๐™š๐™ฃ Learning Guide explores how oral history and archival research are not just as academic exercises, but also tools of resistance and truth-telling. The lesson considers how preserving memory honors those whose stories have been historically silenced. For grades 6-12, adult/higher ed.

Educators (of all kinds!), what are the films you love to teach with for Earth Day (or Earth Week or Earth Month), and why do you love them?

#Education #Homeschooling #EdTech #TeachWithFilm #EarthDay #EarthMonth #EarthWeek #Climate #Environment #Nature

๐ŸŒŽ For Earth Day, we're launching our newest climate film: The White House Effect!

Using exclusively archival material, The White House Effect tells the dramatic origin story of the climate crisis & how a political battle in the George H.W. Bush administration changed the course of history.

The film explores how early promises of action were reshaped by political pressure and economic interests, and how those decisions set the stage for the climate challenges we now face.

Our film guides explore key themes of the film through reflection on leadership, responsibility, and more. Resources include a Climate Emotions Wheel and tools for centering hope through action and engagement. For grades 6-12, higher ed/adult and community use.

April is School Library Month and this week is National Library Week! Librarians are some of our favorite people. Thank you for the incredible contributions you make to our schools and communities. ๐Ÿ’

It's a great time to watch The Neighborhood Storyteller. This short documentary follows Asmaa Rashed, a young Syrian mother and refugee, as she establishes vibrant reading circles, transforming a humble act into a powerful tool for social change. The film celebrates the importance of reading and sharing stories to find oneโ€™s voice.

Our Discussion Guide for this film also connects with "Muzoon: A Syrian Refugee Speaks Out" by Muzoon Al-Mellehanan with Wendy Pearlman, for an exciting film-book teaching combination.
