The Death of Social Media is the Renaissance of RSS – Smartlab

What is your #RSS consumption setup?
I've seen that people run some sort of aggregators on their homelabs, but not sure if that's necessary.

I've tried Read You android app and unfortunately it didnt scan for changes unless I've manually checked the feed.

I'd love an app where I can save feeds in folders/tags, and have "daily digest" notification at a set time everyday, that aggregates all the feeds that posted change that day.

I've started a blog recently and I'm thinking it's probably worth having a page that explains what RSS is to help people get started.

Ideally I'd like to link to good resources where I can - are there any good pages out there that would be ideal for helping someone select their first RSS reader? Should ideally include free/FOSS options since I don't want to only point them to subscription services.

Cher Mastodon,

#RSS #RssRevival

I am glad to see the revival of RSS. If a site doesn't have an RSS feed, I'll often write it off as I'm not willing to make a special visit to look for updates when other sites' updates simply show up in my feed reader.

Here's hoping the comeback continues.
