Cormac McCarthy has died. I haven’t read any of his stuff in years; Blood Meridian was the last on the recommendation of a coworker. It was incredibly bleak. I loved it. I’ll have to check out something else of his. My high school English teacher—who went on to manage a bookstore—recommended All the Pretty Horses, but I never got a chance to read it.
