The oldest Buddhist texts are probably the poetry written in archaic Ṛgvedic triṣṭubh & jagatī metres: most of the Sutta Nipāta, some of the Dhammapada (49, 100-115, 129-148, 151, 155-156, 179-180, 183-185, 197-200, 336-337, 360-361, & 400-423), some Theragāthā/Therīgāthā & Udāna, & the Itivuttaka.

The pictures don't really do it justice, but my Ashura 1/7 scale figure finally came in! There are so many amazing details, and he came almost fully assembled. Even the packaging is really well thought out.
Watched 90s OVAs based on this manga. And have the same question I had with Yakumo Tatsu: why were they made? At least with Yakumo Tatsu they served as an ad since they followed the plot of manga (and it was kindly explained to me that it's what OVAs do sometimes). But this one is still a mystery to me.
We're catapulted straight into action with zero to none explanation, skip about 1/3 of manga and then start changing its plot for no reason whatsoever without ever finishing. Err... why? No explanation given. Looks pretty though, not manga level but decent enough. Seems like CLAMP aren't particularly lucky with adaptations of their manga after all

Finally came round to reading RG Veda manga by CLAMP (it's been 35 years since its start but oh well... :))
Some observations:
- artwork is absolutely gorgeous. Details, panelling, individual characters' designs... This is my type of aesthetics and the reason why I love their earlier works
- they aimed high with the story and it really had potential, but it felt like it didn't deliver on various aspects and the focus seems to shift quite a lot. Still probing on storytelling techniques
- they managed to create intriguing characters but again even 10 volumes wasn't enough to make them truly epic like they deserved. And the ending for some of them had sorta Shakespearean scale of non-survival
- it was interesting to see the birth of certain topics that'll become recurrent in their further works: striving to change destiny, fatality, tragic love, etc.
It's hard to believe that it's their 1st officially published work though, the level is certainly high

I wanted to order the Emontoys Ashura 1/7 scale fig (left) to go with my Kujaku 1/7, but it's been 3 years since it was even announced. Meanwhile, Hobby Max has a 1/7 scale fig of the same character in an absolutely gorgeous pose.
RG Veda is a pretty niche CLAMP series, so it's super exciting that it's getting so many figures! I really loved the concept from Emontoys, but I ended up pre-ordering Hobby Max one since it's actually available and planned for release next year.
