"Lo scontro tra Stati Uniti e Iran si infiamma ancora di più, anche a parole. Oggi a dare il via è il presidente americano Donald Trump, intervenuto a Fox News con toni tutt'altro che concilianti con Teheran. Sulla nuova Guida Suprema iraniana Mojtaba Khamenei, da poco nominato, Trump ha dichiarato di "non essere felice" per la scelta, aggiungendo una valutazione tagliente: "Non penso possa vivere in pace". Una frase che suona meno come un'analisi geopolitica e più come un avvertimento personale. Sul fronte dei negoziati, il presidente americano ha quasi chiuso la porta, pur lasciando uno spiraglio minimo: "È possibile, dipende dai termini ma è solo possibile... In realtà non abbiamo praticamente più bisogno di parlare con loro, se ci pensate bene, ma è possibile". Un'apertura così condizionata da sembrare, nei fatti, una chiusura.

La risposta iraniana non si è fatta attendere. A farsi portavoce di Teheran è Ali Larijani, segretario del Consiglio supremo di sicurezza nazionale, che ha scelto il canale diretto di X per replicare alle minacce americane di colpire l'Iran "venti volte più forte". Il tono è sprezzante: "Il popolo dell'Ashura in Iran non ha paura delle vostre vuote minacce". E ancora, con un crescendo provocatorio rivolto direttamente a Trump: "Nemmeno persone più grandi di te potrebbero eliminare la nazione iraniana. Fai attenzione a non essere cancellato tu". Un botta e risposta continuo all'interno della guerra in Medio Oriente.

The clash between the United States and Iran is further inflamed, even with words. Today, it was American President Donald Trump who kicked things off, speaking to Fox News with hardly conciliatory tones towards Tehran. Regarding the newly appointed Supreme Guide of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump declared he was “not happy” with the choice, adding a sharp assessment: “I don’t think he can live in peace.” A phrase that sounds less like a geopolitical analysis and more like a personal warning. On the negotiations front, the American president has almost slammed the door shut, leaving a minimal opening: "It’s possible, depending on the terms but it’s only possible… In reality, we practically don’t need to talk to them anymore, if you think about it well, but it is possible.” Such a conditional opening seems, in fact, a closure.

The Iranian response didn’t delay. Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who spoke through the direct channel of X, was the one to represent Tehran, responding to American threats to strike Iran “twenty times stronger.” The tone is scornful: “The people of Ashura in Iran are not afraid of your empty threats.” And still, with a provocative crescendo directly aimed at Trump: “Even people bigger than you couldn't eliminate the Iranian nation. Be careful not to be erased yourself.” A continuous exchange within the war in the Middle East.
