After the newest version of #MuOS (PIXIE) just would not boot at all (checked MD5, downloaded fresh img, re-flashed SD card, did all that multiple times,...) I finally decided to grab the previous version (AW BANANA) and flashed it using *Balena*, which they EXPLICITLY don't recommend...

... and my new #RG40XXV finally boots into MuOS!! 🎉 so far it feels better in the hand than the RG353V (RIP 🪦) it replaces.

Spent a few hours last night playing around with my #RG40XXV and I managed to get all of my box-art scraped on the device itself using a little script called Artie.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this stuff but I still got it running in about 5 minutes, so if you're wanting to make your UI look extra pretty, take a look.

Probably shouldn't be playing on this yet but my partner has agreed to let me have my #RG40XXV early so I'm beginning my adventure.

First port of call is #LegendOfZelda #ALinkToThePast. I've never played the game, yes. Well, not really. I played it as an 8 year old who didn't know shit about nothing; I never stuck with it.

30 odd years later and I'm finally ready to scratch it off my list of shame.

My partner has gotten me an #ANBERNIC #RG40XXV for XMAS and I've been having a little play around on it before it goes away for wrapping.

I'm going to spend so much time playing (all the game I absolutely already own) on this thing.

I've dabbled in emulation before, especially on my Steamdeck, but I think having a dedicated device that also runs them well, and looks purpose built whilst doing so is going to really open this stuff up to me.

I can't wait.

Only thing I need to know now is this....Do I need to do anything to get the most out of this device, or is it hot-to-go as the kids say?
