I didn't realise this episode started with Q arguing that Star Fleet needed him on their crew for the enemies they were about to encounter as they explored space, and then he flung them into a sector with the Borg.
He did that and then NEVER showed up to help Star Fleet when they fight the Borg!

A really cool fan poster for last night's Star Trek The Next Generation episode Q Who on H&I's All Star Trek, where Q gets 18 crewmen on Enterprise killed. (There is a REALLY hi-res version available on the source link.)

In the epilogue, #Guinan and #Picard discuss their encounter with the #Borg, and imply Q sped up their inevitable conflict, BUT the episode implies that it was the Borg that destroyed the outposts on the Romulan/Federation Neutral Zone border in the previous episode #TheNeutralZone.
So, all Q did was get 18 crew members killed to solve the original mystery.
PICARD: Maybe Q did the right thing for the wrong reason.
GUINAN: How so?
PICARD: Well, perhaps what we most needed was a kick in our complacency, to prepare us ready for what lies ahead. (moves chess piece) Oh, and checkmate by the double dog Vulcan dare gambit maneuver.
I'll say it again, Q is a c**t.
WHY DID THEY TRY TO MAKE HIM SYMPATHETIC IN #PICARD???

And Data tried on the Borg Regeneration Slot without thinking that he'd likely be totally bulk erased by the tech.
