After using #borg #backup for years, I have only found out today that you need to call 'borg compact' to reclaim space of removed backups. Anyway, 800GB reclaimed :)

Almost a year later, #ucore has been an amazing base for a home server running #selfhosted containerized apps and #NAS functionality via #SMB. I don't even keep snapshots, just daily #borg backups. Also mergerfs on the off-chance I need a *second* 16TB drive...

Backup borg

Das Backup mit CLI ist wirklich schön. Hat einen Moment gedauert aber das Script läuft gut

wichtige Erkenntnis: duplicati nutzt .net (im linux Umfeld bedarf es mono nötig, was nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäß ist), es gibt Unterschiede in der Block-Bildung chunk id(borg) und hash id

Das Restore auf CLI Ebene tricky - ohne neues Script gings nicht - ich bin faul - aber die Einrichtung vor 3 Wochen war nützlich: meine Daten habe ich wieder 😎

je réfléchi encore à la solution technique pour le backup, mais je pense que je vais partir sur un double backup :
#borg en local, #restic en distant...
je crois que je vais allez contre la faq et faire quand même un rsync du borg local (en plus.…)
déjà que je suis un peu foufou et que je suis parti avec borg2 au lieu de borg stable...
