Aside from that, I very much regret that the #Borg seem to be gone for "good".

I do understand that many fans were tired of them, especially after their extensive use in Voyager, in First Contact, and basically as the overarching villain throughout the whole universe at the end of the 24th century.

The only thing I can say is that I used to developed quite the obsession with that particular species. As a pupil, I wrote websites about the Borg. I dreamt about the Borg. When I went on excavation to Egypt for the first time, being there in the desert for 12 weeks without internet, I took my MP4 player with me, and on it just two episodes of #StarTrekVoyager. One of them being "Dark Frontier". "A vessel has been detected, unimatrix 424 grid 116." The best moment of every evening for me.

I dearly love the Borg. I fear them. They are one of the most fascinating ideas Star Trek has introduced into my head.

I just re-read the history of the #Borg. And I gotta say, their final demise, introduced in #StarTrekPicard, is just... completely underwhelming.

I have watched Picard in the past, and the whole plot is so bad, I had completely forgotten about it.

The only good thing I remember about Picard is actually Jack Crusher. I remember immediately falling in love with him. Even though the introduction of Picard's and Crusher's son in the first place is so... just unnecessary.

But I don't want to complain too hard, because Ed Speelers in that red uniform is one of the best things I have ever seen on Trek.

A little treat for the #StarTrek fans.

I am a huge fan of the #Borg (even though they really do scare me, I used to have nightmares about them), and thus of course also of the infamous battle of #Wolf359. An event that has been quite shocking for the federation and starfleet, which has been referenced, and the Enterprise even ran through the debris coming from that battle.

Video making god JTVFX recreated the happenings of this battle in 40 minutes of moving pictures (split into two parts), and it is so damn good.

The ship types, formations, engagement, the tactics, the borg reactions, the sheer horror of people being assimilated (the scene with the escape pods is just nervewrecking).

That is my type of Star Trek. Along with the kind of utopian perspective on humanity.

Cobbled together some automated backups + email reporting using borg + msmtp + nfs + shell scripts. Good fun.

@dlakelan Good move. For decades my backups were removed RAID devices. I use plain #borg now, and it is much better for having proper history management and the ability to just mount an archive for its perusal.
Another great stat for #Alcaraz:
It was his 90th Slam win. He needed only 20 Slams to get there!
After 20 Slams, #Federer had 48 Wins, #Djokovic 66, #Sampras 69!!
Only #McEnroe (91) & #Borg (98) did better among Legends.
We are witnessing one of the fastest career start ever!

Borg frontends for Gnome that aren’t DejaDup*

Suggestions?
