After learning #morsecode with my course for quite some time now, it was time this week to take advantage of the EuCW #QRS Activity Week and go on the air the first time to make some CW standard QSOs. It was a perfect opportunity for beginners to practice CW QSOs at slow speed.
I was able to make seven standard QSOs, including two with my teacher Eddi DJ6UX, which I'm very happy about (and a little proud 😊). All the OMs were very polite, patient and always responded to my QRS requests – very nice! I also had the feeling that everyone was happy about making a QSO, regardless of the speed and mistakes that occurred.
I have to admid, I didn't get every detail of the QSOs but I managed to get the most important parts like RTS, the name and mostly the QTH and I also learned to ask what I did not understand.
In summary, this week has swept away my concerns going on the air in cw. It was a great week and I'm looking forward for more.
