#PurchasingPowerParity is the assumptions that a basket of goods will cost the same, no matter where in the world it was purchased.
If it costs £10 in the UK, it will cost £10 (in local currency) in Malawi, Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
But parity does not exist in reality. A basket of goods costing £10 in the UK, will be cheaper in Malawi, Sierra Leone and Tanzania. Conversely, the basket of goods in the UK would appear more expensive from Malawi, Sierra Leone and Tanzania.
