Some dead 4066s, a dead TL084 or two. Marginal power supply. And - weirdest of all - bent legs on two ICs. I cannot explain this other than it left the factory like that, or some other tech did it. Either way, I could entertain the possibility that the pins made intermittent contact with the socket.

Well, I’ve been putting this one off, but here goes. It’s a #Publison DHM 89 B2 and it is very broken. Someone has already been inside and done some work on the power supply. Kinda sorta. And as can be seen, the part numbers have been sanded off the ICs, making this a repair tech’s nightmare.

I know one person who is an expert at restoring these, and I have a huge amount of respect for him. Because these things are sorcery indeed. 🪄💥
