I almost ticked Proustian for myself, but Conradian would be closer to the mark. The text presents a concrete event, describes selected elements of it in ptecise detail, then flies off into some loosely connected high-level abstractionsnand moral msxims, then returns to the plot in its everyday concreteness. My emails at work are Conradian.
