@chris Your description of current efforts to defund #publiceducation in Canada mimic US defunding education since California’s disastrous 1979 #Proposition13 shifted tax bases from property to regressive revenue sources. For over 30 years, the University of California, my alma mater, has depended on #internationalstudents’ fees and out of state #tuition to patch budgets. Faculty and graduate students absorb support staff jobs. Buildings crumble, inadequate ventilation.
