So, here we start again. #sewing #ProjectorSewing
Pattern projecting really has made sewing a lot quicker for me. I cut out three pairs of shorts for my 4 year old on Friday evening (took about an hour ish), then batched sewed then Saturday evening. I have to do the waistbands and hemming tonight and then they'll be done! Sizing up is so easy when I don't have to trace and cut a new size. #sewing #ProjectorSewing #projectorsforsewing #toddlersewing
When the #shapeBuilder was in development in #Inkscape last year, I immediately saw it was useful for selecting the pattern lines in sewing patterns, like neckline options, and for a while, that was it.
But since then, I often use it to join broken paths together, and found it's good for joining back post-alterations shapes too, so less to no tracing is needed.
Would be cool to be able to include empty spaces between the paths in the future; still needed some cleaning ;) #projectorSewing
Released a video about #Inkscape release. Watch it before or after a great one by Logos by Nick; we managed to only cover one of the features in common, all the others are different ;) Mine is geared towards #projectorSewing and #sewingPatternsAdjustments as usual, and his towards logo design. We both are extremely excited :)

I have a strong maker's remorse about this dress. Fabric combination doesn't look that good; I made a dress length instead of a tunic and it looks way more nightgown-y, I tried to add a big button but it looks even worse with it. Plus all the inconvenience described in the previous post, stripes and bad projector files.
On the other hand, she put it on without complaints, plays at the kids amusement centre and looks happy. #sewing #ProjectorSewing
The next time I decide to 'just make a rather quick dress for my kid, something familiar', remind me not to choose stripes.
Also remind me to pick a pattern with a good projector file, without 'cut on fold' pieces.
I found that even if I fully decide to ignore stripes matching (doing that while cutting on fold is just plain painful), I still matched them all while sewing because I just couldn't make myself let it go. #sewing #projectorSewing

I am dabbling in #projectorsewing, which _theoretically_ will let me project pattern pieces directly on the fabric to be cut.

There's a lot of fiddling with zoom levels in Preview to get a PDF to project at the right size, but it's not as bad as I had feared!

I'm of two minds about special occasions sewing. It's far from #SlowFashion: worn too little, a lot of effort, always with a tight deadline (ok, that's on me). Often fabrics unpleasant to the touch, hate most chiffons etc. But then #sewing this festive knit was pure joy, and cutting it, so sparkly under my projector light, was joyous too. And I'm glad I had a few hours of light and could cut and sew the leggings for my kid to wear at kindergarten play tomorrow. #ProjectorSewing #KyivPowerCut
