Morning everypony! Believe it or not, I'm still alive! Been doing some painting and such over here, usually on streams in the evenings. Working on some Stargazer pieces, I happened to work on the next part of my storyboard for the comic, and unintentionally went a little too hard.

In this shot, Starsong looks into the sky above her home planet and realizes that she no longer belongs on the ground. The stars call her name, and she intends to answer. The longing on her face belies the determination she has to escape the bonds of Aelia.

I had so much fun painting this piece, and I really need to thank my best friend @duppydoodles for some advice on shading that really brought this piece to life. Love you buddy, thank you.

Sometimes depression knocks you out of the world for awhile, and when you come back everything looks weird.

Thankfully I'm coming out of a slightly longer-term episode and I'm feeling so much better these last few days.

Started working on a new character for #projectstargazer the other night, which I haven't been working on for almost a year- and hot damn she's a cutie. Lots of fun concepts to do with this completely amoral/slightly villainous alicorn named Frozen Dawn.

What do ya'll think of her? Still need a cutie mark that fits better, I had the concept for a blue sun surrounded by frozen ice crystals but I'm absolute shit at those kinds of designs. Anyhow, enjoy this new character design! Here's hoping for more Stargazer content very soon!

Been working on a piece for the last couple of days, started off as a piece of vent art and blossomed into the most intricate and advanced piece I've done to date.

I've been getting anatomy lessons from my best friend @duppydoodles who is literally the best artist I know, and his lessons have been paying off. Combine that with 6-8 hours of drawing practice every day, and it turns out that's a recipe for really amazing progress. I am incredibly proud of this piece.

Next on the list of ponies done for the Stargazer group piece is our amazing chief engineer and 3rd in command, @DanyElRex !!! His character Rain Specter serves as our Chief Engineer, and his job is to keep our haunted as hecc engine in line.

Consistently and permanently on the edge of existential crises, Rain endures his fate by causing explosions and damaging the ship that torments him as often as he can. At the same time he is incredibly supportive and wants nothing more than to protect the crew that he loves so much.

Unfortunately, his tendency to cause explosions often lands him in hot water with Moonsprite and Captain Starsong. He has a special love for our chef's aptly named "death tacos" and consumes them at every opportunity.

Ahh, what a glorious day to have my blood sucked. On a lark I decided to do a 5 hour art stream last night to focus on updating my character sheet for Starsong. She's developed so much over the last two years, as have my skill levels! Looking at this piece side-by-side really emphasizes just how potent hours of practice every day can improve a skill. I'm so glad that I found art. I think my life has been improved so much by dialysis and kidney failure, mostly because it finally feels like I found my calling.

This character sheet is pretty rudimentary, but I'm going to design something a little prettier in the future and offer them as commissions once I find something I'm a little more confident in. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy more confident and slightly sexier Starsong!
