Vaihtoehdoksi valikoitui AfterDawninkin kehuma ranskalainen Qwant.

Syy vaihdokselle on huoli yksityisyydestä ja tietoturvasta, sillä Yhdysvaltain lainsäädäntö mahdollistaa maan tiedustelupalveluille laajan pääsyn kaikkien amerikkalaisten yhtiöiden tietoihin, vaikka tiedot olisivat Euroopassa. Eli Google, Bing ja edes DuckDuckGo eivät ole tässä mielessä luotettavia.

There are only 3 Months left until Google will lock out all OSS developers from Android. While the EU and the rest of Europe is talking about digital sovereignty, they are all awfully silent about this big issue, that directly threatens the little bit of digital sovereignty we already have! And as we all know, it's much harder to regain something lost than to keep it.

Waarom kan ik eigenlijk niet gewoon naar het gemeentehuis om een public key te laten registreren?

Technisch gezien slaat het helemaal nergens op dat dat niet kan.

Volgens mij is ssh-keygen ook gebruiksvriendelijker dan DigiD, maar dat is mijn vakgebied niet.

🤔 Wellicht dan toch een device of app erbij voor wie dat wil. Het is hoe dan ook niet moeilijk toegankelijk te maken.

Het overduidelijke voordeel van zoiets is dat je geen lock-in hebt, en je technische buurvrouw je altijd weer op weg kan helpen…
