Pro-tip: if the jackasses at the place you rent for a domicile left you with a non-programmable thermostat, do the following.
Pry it off the wall. Now... be careful. All the thermostats that I've had for the past 10-20 years were removable from the wall. If you have an ancient one, you may not be able to do this. I suspect that this thermostat wouldn't look spiffy enough to be programmable anyway.
Look for the model number, note it or take a pic.
Go to the internet to find your model's manual.
Read the manual. Most likely, it will have a section that tells the installer how to turn off the programming capability. Undo what they did to turn it off.
From now on, you can program your thermostat, and profit, I guess.
I just did this for mine. I meant to do it a long while back, but I got distracted. Now I no longer have to remember to turn it down at night, and back on in the morning. ๐ฅณ
