Marillion's "Misplaced Childhood" has to be one of my favourite albums of all time. A sprawling concept album of love and loss in Midlothian, the prog giant's third album ranges from chart topping pop hits to dystopian spoken word. Fish's lyrics are on top form. A masterpiece.

I've had this album on in the car today and I have to say it is an excellent album released last November by Spock's Beard. It encompasses everything a modern prog album should.I'd go along with reviewer Gary Mackenzie from Prog magazine,he described the album as "complex and multilayered without being bewildering," adding that "it does all feel rather special."

Next, we are back in #france. How about another innovator of the 1970s, Patrick Vian (the son of the well known writer, musician and polymath Boris Vian) with his only solo album "bruits et temps analogues" following some #progrock collaborations.

Features a Moog #modular #synth and an Arp 2600 modular synth amongst many things. Same label who had signed Vangelis at the time.
