I’d love to be able use Mastodon’s private-notes feature as a repository of private-to-me information about people I follow
But that would currently mean trusting the admins and software developers of every instance I’d like to record notes on
The best solution I can think of is to use notes via an app that encrypts them before passing them to the instance
That would lock me in to using that app though, so it would be useful to have a standard means of copying private encryption keys from one app to another
Has anyone considered anything like this, or a better solution?
A *fabulous* feature we have here is the field for private notes on other people's accounts. I use it to make a note of how I came to follow someone (or why I don't).
I've used "followed me first" a lot, but have also made note that they're funny, or of a conversation we had, or something I learned about a person that wasn't in their bio, etc.
This is priceless for me because I have such a bad memory.
