Sounds the sequeal is based more on the two Dispatches books, that are between the first and second movie ("The Hunting of Stalker Force" and "The Psalms of Xipetotec")
I think they are going to mix both books, thought means they are going to do various changes like in the first movie, but I'm not against it if the tale has good things in this way.
