#rstats is anyone here using #positron? I discovered that the latest version works for me! Super happy about that. Now I'm trying to find out how it will load data files from the current working directory when started with a .qmd file from there, instead of trying to read from my home directory.

Release an R package with Positron - Julia Silge

Helpful worked example by @juliasilge. Updating an existing package with a new version and the steps to prepare a CRAN submission using a checklist of actions. Aside from seeing Positron in action it's also good for learning a realistic workflow in package development.

The truly important reason to try the #positron R/Python editor is that it can work in parallel with another R session open in #RStudio for a different project...

Also amazed by the #Pluto notebook for #Julia scientific work. One of its nice features is that the associated file is in text format and the code can be easily extracted. Not yet ready to switch from #ggplot to #VegaLite though.

Get Started – Positron

Check out my new screencast, where I walk through how I use #Positron for #rstats package development work. I decided to release a new version of an R package to CRAN ✨live✨ this time around!

Oh wow, running #rstats package test within #Positron is *really* nice 🤩
Anyway here's that blogpost about using small shell wrappers for #pak and #renv and also #Positron and project management and whatnot for the #rstats crowd: https://blog.jemu.name/2025/03/r-usability-gimmicks/
@jmclawson And #positron
I have an #rstats IDE which works well for me, I don’t want to start doing other languages in an IDE (ok, I admit, debugging python on VScode was handy) and I am usually not such an early adopter.
What are suggested best practices for .gitignore, when using #Posit #Positron with #Quarto and #JuliaLang? Of course I'll want to version control the `.qmd` and `.toml` files. OK to NOT track the rendered output (eg `*.html`) and `*_files/libs/` (which contains bootstrap/js/css stuff)?
