#PolyCam is so weird, on one hand its actually amazing software to use and some of the results it returns are simply spectacular. On the other hand it can't handle uploading in the background, sometimes just returns inside out objects from datasets I can process easily and are dubious about who actually owns the resulting scan.

That's not £150 worth of anything, especially when I can capture and process larger datasets easier and get better results without having to fight with a broken UI.

Interesting behind-the-scenes clip for a recent #LinkinPark video. Doesn't go too deep into the #VFX but they were using what looks like the #polycam app to scan the meshes. For mo-cap, wonderdynamics.com seems to have been involved (they are showing that alien demo footage) but who knows if it was just used for on-set previz.
