How can you tell if Pokémon Crystal is real or fake?

Pokémon Crystal is one of the most commonly counterfeited Game Boy Color games we see at The Old School Game Vault. A real copy should have a light blue transparent shell with tiny specs of glitter, a numbered label imprint, a visible CR2025 save battery, and a full-size Nintendo circuit board.
