Seas ever rising
Thermal capacity reached
Northern latitudes more enticing
Oceanic circulation breached

Soylent futures certain
Verdant algal expanses thrive
Within an ill-tempered ocean
Harvested to keep humanity alive

What shall be our fate
If waters no longer hospitable
Will species adapt too late
Will Earth still be inhabitable

If only there was a way
To turn the ship around
To act without delay and save
The planet to which we’re bound
