It's finished! ๐
This is the "p.18 Pineapple Mini-dress" by Atsuko Takeda. It's my first attempt at an untranslated Japanese pattern, and it took way longer than expected but I'm well chuffed with how it's turned out!
Added an extra repeat of the bottom border, and blocked it twice to make sure it was a respectable length, but other than that no modifications. Loved having a pattern that just trusted you to know how to read a chart, as well.
10/10 would Japanese pattern again.

I did it! Almost had the last row finished last night, but it was bedtime so I did the last few stitches this morning instead.
Now just to wait for it to dry from this half-hearted pre-blocking, seam the front and back panels together, add a border round the bottom, realise it's indecently short and add more border again, block it properly, weave in all the ends, and hope like hell the blue slip I've ordered to go under it fits because that was surprisingly hard to find on the modern internet.
Basically done, right?! ๐
The second panel of this dress has been "nearly finished" since last week. Just needs a few border rows. Come on, self, you can do this! ๐ช

Feel like I should be playing Kerbal Space Program to stay on theme while listening to #ThePlaylist this week, but it's been banger after banger and I'd definitely not be concentrating enough. #Crochet it is, then!
My main WIP today is getting doggo to settle and feel at home, but I did manage about 3 inches or so of crochet over the long weekend in between prepping for her arrival.
Given that I just had to utter the words "no, good girls don't eat crochet!" I think tonight might be a lost cause ๐

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, there was indeed a cheeky cast on yesterday.
But more importantly, I've also jumpscared myself with the realisation of how close my self-imposed deadline for this blue crochet dress is. So tonight's first task is to find where I actually put the beginning bit of the back panel, since I've not worked on it since December. And then I'd best get on with it!
No, neither of those are the green jumper that I expected to be working on this week ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Still getting over the tail end of a grotty cold, so it's been heated blanket and comfort gaming for me.
But a mere couple of weeks ago I was crocheting in the sun with a mai tai in arm's reach, chatting to a friendly stranger who happened to be knitting on the sun lounger opposite.
I choose to distract myself from current grottiness by remembering this day. Good times, good times ๐ฅน
