It's crazy to see my own app #PicPlanner on the trending page of Flathub 😱 Especially when I consider that I have never programmed a single line of C before starting this app. I used this app to learn how C and #Linux works and to understand the whole Linux ecosystem. Also it helped me to finally get rid of #Android 😀

Whatever... #PicPlanner Version 0.5.3 is out now on #Flathub and fixes a bug I completely forgot about. The date format will now follow your system settings independent of what your prefered date format is!

#PicPlanner V0.5.2 is now on #Flathub.
It is now using #Gnome runtime 47 and is now compatible with GTK 4.17. Sadly I have not enough time at the moment to improve or add any features.

#PicPlanner Version 0.5.0 is out now on #Flathub.

The experience on the #Librem5 or in general on touch devices should be much better now.

What is new:
- Using #GNOME runtime 45
- The UI is much cleaner
- French language support is added
- The app should be recognized as mobile friendly
- A lot of bug fixes and improvements

Additionally to the vanishing UI elements bug I also found the reason why navigating the map in #PicPlanner is so lagy on the #Librem5.
I could improve the responsiveness quite a bit. It is still not perfect but it feels usable now. The good thing is that I know how to further improve it but it is a lot of work.

Woooow finally after 4 months I found a super stupid UI bug in #PicPlanner which caused an UI element to vanish... I really stopped working on this project because I started to become angry 😅
Today after a long break I looked at the code again and after one hour I finally found it.
The motivation is back 😀
And a new PicPlanner Update is just around the corner 🥳

I built #PicPlanner on my #Librem5 yesterday to test some design tweaks directly on the phone. The first flatpak build process takes quite some time on the Librem5 but the second time it is much faster.

Having the possibility to test directly on the phone is much better now then just guessing on a laptop how it will probably feel on a phone.
Hopefully I can fix some bucks faster now. Especially the slow touch input.

Example use case for #PicPlanner.
During a trip in #Croatia we have been to a restaurant near the Mediterranean sea. Shortly before we went to this restaurant, I checked with my app where a good photo spot could be. A small bay seemed promising and I saw that the #Moon is not showing up which means the #MilkyWay will be clearly visible at around 22:25. So I took my camera with me, left the restaurant at 22:10, went to this place and took this picture.

#PicPlanner version 0.4.0 is out 🎉
The experience on touch screens should be much better now! Furthermore, most of the settings you make in the app are now saved and not reset anymore after restarting the app.
