A woman named Lynn Byrd created these Little Pet Chapels in North Carolina, where people can leave notes, make a journal entry, or draw pictures honoring a beloved pet they've lost.

Just looking at the heartfelt post its, notes, and art made me cry but it's comforting too. Such a lovely idea to make these.

In Memoriam: Isis aka lowrider & shoulder kitty (RIP 17 years old)
#MunchkinCat pictured passed away June 21, 2019.
They have a genetic mutation that causes short legs.

She was sweet & gentle girl.

I rescued a black DSH from the SPCA to keep her company. 2 kittens were so much fun with the running around! They had naps, play fights, & bathing sessions. Cuddles unexpectedly passed away only after 7 years.

Her bio said she was named Cuddles coz she enjoyed being on people's neck, there was even a pic of her on the foster mom's.

Isis was a shoulder cat. IDK where she learned it but as a kitten, she would climb up to suPURRvise. I wore fleece zipups at home so she'd have some fabric to dig her nails into (her nails got longer & sharper as an adult).

Because she's a munchkin, she was smol enough to keep riding my shoulders as full adult. BTW she never asked permission, she just jumped up to be there. Gone but not forgotten. FURREVER LOVE.

In Memoriam: Jubby (aka Jubjub) RIP 11 years old. He passed away on Halloween October 31, 2019.

My 1st lizard, I met Jubby while visiting a friend who was done being a Veterinarian. I oddly found him working retail at a neighbourhood Pet Store coz I needed some fresh grass for one of my rescue cats.

I asked if there were apartment-friendly pets and he showed me the lizards. This little hatchling jumped up to meet me from his enclosure. He just looked at me as he crawled up my arm to land on my chest (the warmest part), since reptiles are cold-blooded.

That was it for me: Love at 1st sight and into lizards since then. Gone but not forgotten. "No longer by my side, but forever in my heart.

In Memoriam: Dobby (RIP 10 years old)
The #ragdollcat pictured here (also hugging him in my current profile pic) unexpectedly passed away on September 19, 2020

He was a sweet and gentle boy who greeted me at the door whenever I returned from tennis.
He joined me for yoga or mat pilates at home, stretching big and lying down the floor near me.
He’d bask under the sun when I sunbathed with my other cat (his memoriam post follows this).

Feels like yesterday, an autumn ago: Dobby enjoyed giving me cuddles despite (me) having the flu. One of my fondest memories was he just stayed with me to nap on my body and purr which I found very healing when I had bronchitis and was stuck in bed for 2 weeks!

I miss this cutie and he lives in my heart.
In the pic: Dobby, posing beside a pup plushie we named Bibi (French for kisses).
"No longer by my side, but forever in my heart.
