Is this just a thing that people never do? I'm wondering because it seems a fairly common thing to try to do when testing all valid permutations of a set of inputs. For some dimensions, you want all permutations, for others, only certain subsets of the available permutations make sense.
Do you prefer to hard-code? Calculate all permutations, then filter? Hand over to someone else's tool?

I've been wildly unsuccessful in terms of writing--I've had a constant headache making words on paper hard. I've been researching instead.
We did *finally* get Permutations launched--new stories in Jack Chalker's Well World (with permission!) edited by David Boop. Super fun to write.
