Just finished Perfect Crown and I had expected to like it more. I can see why people said they felt like the leads didn't have chemistry. I did think they had chemistry, but I missed the slow burn which I always love in Kdrama romances. None of the kisses really felt earned, and none gave me chills like in most other Kdramas.
I also didn't like the way they portrayed royal life. Would the Korean royal family not have modernised at all? Everyone still wore those ancient robes and the royals all had hordes of staff walking behind them doing what exactly? I preferred how the modern royal family was portrayed in The King Eternal Monarch. That was much more realistic.
Also, PM Min Jeongwoo was batshit crazy. Why would he think that killing I-An would "get" him Huiji? That made no sense, or maybe only sense to a misogynistic a-hole.
Anyway, safe to say it won't be a rewatch for me.
