For those who don't see the connection, this is more than just idle speculation on a minor detail. I've kept up with the news on multiple coups and uprisings over the years, and whether or not the military sides with your dictator is a *major* deciding factor on the outcome for your country.
The size of the crowd at Trump's #dicktater #perade was comparable to the number of protest *sites* for No Kings Day. Let that sink in. Over 2,000 *places*, each of which had tens, hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of protesters. The difference wasn't a thin crowd vs a big crowd. It was a thin crowd vs a crowd of crowds. Sea to shining sea.
It's the funniest thing. The Washington Post - now owned by billionaire suck-up-to-Trump acolyte Jeff Bezos - has articles on the No Kings protests, Trump's birthday fetish parade ("perade" *cough*), even on the new Pope's big gathering in Chicago.
Attendance numbers or estimates are given for the Pope's function, and also for many of the No Kings protests around the nation.
But for the Washington military tribute parade? Crickets. Lots of words, not a single number. I'm sure that's purely an oversight, they'll get around to talking about the millions of people... <taps ear> I'm just being informed there weren't millions of people.
In pictures and in descriptions from other media, attendance is described as "light".
Won't you shed a tear for Kim il Donald, the honourary Grand Loser of the parade? He waited 79 years for this, and almost no one came.
