‘Boards composed of individuals [who are] blind to the moral implications of abandoning the principle of freedom of expression, have been unnerved by the pressure exerted by politicians calculating their electoral prospects and relentless, coordinated letter-writing campaigns.. [thereby creating] a less free nation, where lobbying and political pressure determine who gets to speak and who doesn’t.’

Louise Adler on resigning as director of Adelaide Writers Week.

Listening to others who see the world differently from ourselves is How We Learn. As William Blake observed, ‘The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, & breeds Reptiles of the Mind’.

The fiction that any criticism of the actions of a state is the same has hate speech against all its citizens & anyone who follows a particular religion, is being weaponised to cultivate division & hate. Any criticism of the actions of the State of Israel is being called antisemitism. It’s not.

Recognise it. Name it. Repudiate it.

Do we consent to be complicit in the silencing of political analysis? Do we consent to be complicit normalising the idea that any criticism of the actions of the state of Israel is by definition antisemitic?

Do we consent to be complicit in the marketing of misinformation & the cultivation of hate?

These writers do not.
