My #ecobee "smart" thermostat participates in the #Ontario #PeakPerks program whereby they remotely raise the setpoint by 1ºC during peak electricity times of 11:00-17:00. My normal setpoint is 26º and sure enough, at 11 this morning it was boosted to 27º. But at 14:00 the setpoint was changed again to 24º causing the A/C to kick in as the house temperature rose. This needlessly costs me money. Normally, the house stays cool enough not to use A/C until the off-peak time of 19:00. 😖
