BPI expands digital access through Pay&Go partnership

As part of its commitment to make digital banking more accessible to Filipinos, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), through its digital wallet VYBE, has partnered with Pay&Go to allow users to cash in for free at over 3,000 kiosks nationwide.

The partnership supports BPI’s broader vision of advancing digital inclusion. Through VYBE, Filipinos—even those without a bank account—can easily sign up and begin their digital financial journey.

“True digital transformation means extending real value to the underserved. Our partnership with Pay&Go brings us closer to communities. By making it easier — and free — to cash in to VYBE, we’re helping more Filipinos participate in the digital economy,” said Alex Seminiano, Chief Technology Officer, BPI.

BPI’s drive for digital inclusion comes at a pivotal moment, as many Filipinos still face barriers to accessing financial services. With challenges such as limited reach, documentary requirements, and trust issues, many remain outside the formal banking system.

VYBE aims to change that—empowering more Filipinos to take the first step in their digital financial journey and experience the benefits of secure, convenient, and inclusive banking. Even without a BPI bank account, VYBE users can enjoy the following features:

• Send and receive money

• Pay bills and buy load

• Earn reward points for eligible transactions

With Pay&Go’s nationwide footprint, even users in remote or underbanked areas can now cash in to their VYBE wallets more conveniently — with no transaction fees.

Whether you’re a student, gig worker, or small business owner, VYBE offers a fast and easy way to go cashless, backed by the security and trust of one of the country’s most established banks.

“Digital banking must serve not only the tech-savvy but also the overlooked. As we expand VYBE’s access through Pay&Go, we are building a more inclusive financial landscape where every Filipino has the tools to move forward,” said Eric Faustino, Head of Digital Partnerships and Ecosystems, BPI.

Pay&Go’s Key Milestone: Introduction of Integrated Cash-Out Services

During the summit, Pay&Go introduced and showcased its innovative cash-out services, integrated into its existing self-service payment kiosks. Industry attendees and partners had the exclusive opportunity to experience this game-changing feature firsthand through real-time transactions. The response was overwhelmingly positive—several banks immediately saw the potential and have already onboarded, with many more expressing strong interest in partnering after successfully testing the service. This momentum underscores the powerful impact these cash-out solutions could have in expanding financial access across the country.

This cutting-edge feature has the potential to revolutionize financial accessibility, especially in underserved and remote communities. By transforming existing kiosks into multifunctional touchpoints, Pay&Go aims to elevate them from simple transaction points to vital gateways for banking and financial services in areas where infrastructure is limited.

Building on this exciting progress, Pay&Go will continue to embed and expand this enhancement within its current network of self-service kiosks. These upgraded machines are designed to deliver even greater convenience, accessibility, and efficiency—paving the way for a more inclusive financial landscape for Filipinos nationwide. This development vividly demonstrates Pay&Go’s commitment to practical, scalable solutions that will drive the future of financial inclusion.

Transforming Innovation to Inclusion

As this new feature gained attention, Pay&Go CEO Dan Ibarra participated in a key panel discussion titled “Unlocking Financial Health for Every Filipino: The Next Frontier in Inclusion,” moderated by Lawrence Ferrer, President & CEO of CIS Bayad Center Inc. The session focused on collaborative strategies to bridge the financial gap and bring essential services closer to every Filipino.

“As we discuss risks and opportunities on a global stage, we remain grounded in our core mission here at home: We provide access to the grassroots population for their basic needs in financial inclusion,” said Ibarra.

“Self-service kiosks are increasingly visible in rural areas, proof that Filipinos want access to financial services. With over 3,000 machines nationwide, from urban centers to the most remote towns, we’re helping bridge the gap between owning an account and actively using it. Because true innovation isn’t just about cutting-edge tech; it’s about making fundamental services affordable, efficient, and accessible to every Filipino, wherever they may be.”

“… And this is not a solo effort. Financial inclusion is a shared mission—one that demands collaboration among government, private sector, and community stakeholders to ensure that walang maiiwan—no one is left behind,” as Ibarra closed the discussion.

Pay&Go’s prominent presence at the Manila Tech Summit 2025 reaffirms its unwavering dedication to fostering a more inclusive digital economy. By working hand-in-hand with public and private partners, the company is committed to turning this vision into reality—bringing financial access to every corner of the Philippines.

Without a PAYGO patch for the MAGA Murder Bill, significant cuts to Medicare are on the horizon due to projected deficits, potentially exceeding $500 billion from 2026-2034. The CBO warns of a $2.3 trillion deficit increase, with Medicare vulnerable as it lacks protection under PAYGO. How GOPers Handle Their Bill May Trigger Massive Medicare Cuts

Thanks to the fact that they didn't put a PAYGO waiver in their MAGA Murder Bill, cuts could kick in automatically.

A shocking analysis by the CBO warns that House Republicans' reconciliation package could cut Medicare by over $500 billion. Requested by Rep. Brendan Boyle, the analysis coincides with a hearing on a bill that may hike the deficit by trillions while favoring tax cuts for the wealthy. Boyle argues this proposal jeopardizes essential services, and aligns with former Trump promises to protect Medicare. Tomorrow I will also vote No on the rules package, which is trying to slip in #PAYGO.

PAYGO isn’t only bad economics, as @RoKhanna@twitter.com explains; it’s also a dark political maneuver designed to hamstring progress on healthcare+other leg.
