This is one of the reasons I won’t install parking apps. Tried using a car park which recently changed hands, new signage had no phone numbers to #PayByPhone, only apps. Too cheap to install an actual payment machine (coins or card). I took my business elsewhere.

Die Stadt #Heilbronn bietet nun #Handyparken an. Dadurch soll auch auf Flächen, bei denen man bisher das Parkticket für einen im Voraus anzugebenden Zeitraum lösen musste, die Abrechnung nach tatsächlicher Parkdauer möglich werden.

Als taugliche Apps werden „EasyPark, mobilet, PayByPhone, Parkster und PARCO" genannt. Falls jemand derlei Parksysteme schon nutzt: Will ich beim Vergleich dieser Apps unter Android welche unbedingt oder unbedingt nicht?

@dazfuller Unfortunately the option to pay the old fashioned way, with #Cash, is going away in some #ParksCanada parking lots and no doubt elsewhere. Just found out that you can avoid using the sh*** #PayByPhone app for paying parking fees and instead use their website. I am not the only one who could not get the app to work in #grapheneos:

Hallo #Datenschutz Freund*Innen hat sich jemand schonmal mit den APPs / Diensten für Parkscheibe wie #PaybyPhone oder #EasyPark beschäftigt. Das kommt ja immer mehr.
Tracker blockiere ich über andere Apps und kann man über die Exodus Analyse ja schnell einsehen - es ginge also vor allem um den Allg. Datenschutz und die Unternehmen dahinter.

Someone is apparently running stolen card details through that company and attempted to make #fraudulent transactions (£1+ and £59.99) using this companies name.

It may come from an app used to pay for car park payments #PaybyPhone which is coincidentally full of dubious advertising 🫤🤦‍♂️
