Bustin Lose was one of the first national graffiti events in the UK, held at Fossbank Car Park in York, where writers worked on walls in the same vicinity. Held in March, 1988, the graffiti competition was the result of local writers Keith Hopewell aka Part2ism and Mossey approaching the City of York Leisure services, following their inspiration from 1987's Bridlington Street Art competition.
