Are there any #software or #Linux folx that might be able to recommend a beginner distro for an 80+ year olds who's only really familiar with windows to use?

I'm aware of Mint as an option but I'd like to see what other options are out there (mostly because afaik there are some transphobes participating in development) and ideally I'd like to find something difficult to break
