I'm super excited to have a #poem 'SΓ l' (Brine) in #Paperboats, where I'm riffing off the #Gaelic rowing songs.
The poem aims to evoke the #Irish brig The Exmouth, sunk off #Islay in 1818 causing a huge loss of life, whilst the narrative links Gaelic-speaking communities across the Straits of Moyle. So, whilst I'd never usually write in a woman's voice, it's really the ship talking back from the seabed.
A bit of a departure for me, so we'll see if it lands β
