Protestant Scholasticism, as a method, was as much about teaching the faith to the next generation as it was about developing a system. The purpose of the 'system' was the 'schola' or school. The scholastic method was developed as a means of teaching and discipling.
How different would it be if we viewed the Protestant Scholastics as concerned primarily with attempting to pass on the true faith?
