Shawgi Tell looks at a New Hampshire proposal that show just how far some privatizers are willing to go. The chasm between consciousness and anti-consciousness continues to grow in the context of failing economies and failed states at home and abroad. In this fractured and decaying context where the gap between authoritarianism and democracy grows […]
#DougFord is building a Chuck-E-Cheese style grift with his "#Ontario Elementary Teachers Resource Portal", with him or his donors poised to be the one hand to out high margin tat to #Teachers.
Like with his #Recycling #Privatization, it'll end up costing taxpayers more and we'll be worse for it, but he and his donors will get $$$!
Instead of just sending teachers an Electronic Fund Transfer*, which would be the cheaper, faster, more secure method, and provides customers to local stores, he's setting up a portal where teachers will spend Ford Bucks at the Ford Supply Store.
Where a teacher might spend $5 for a box of markers at their local store, they'll instead spend 5 Ford Bucks to get it from a central facility.
But those markers will eventually be stocked at a cost to taxpayers of $10/pack, and that's where he'll profit!
The local store loses $5 revenue and eventually closes.
*Ford sent COVID Cheques instead of EFTs b/c he wanted to bribe voters with their money during a crisis.
The trump admin is reviewing proposals to break up one of the world’s leading #climate and #weather laboratories, transfer its work to universities and private companies, take away its aircraft, and sell its property in #Boulder, #Colorado.
In a social media post, #RussellVought, the White House budget director, called National Center for Atmospheric Research “one of the largest sources of climate alarmism in the country.” #project2025 #privatization

Liz Barker wrote a guest op-ed for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, questioning Florida’s very problematic taxpayer-funded school voucher program. What if a government program were bleeding billions of taxpayer dollars, handing out funds to nearly anyone who applied, with minimal oversight? Fiscal conservatives would demand an intervention. They would call for rooting out waste, fraud and abuse, insist on accountability from those in power and demand […]
