Spurred by the disappearance of tracks from an Apple Music playlist, most likely due to a licensing issue between giant corporations. Downloading from Bandcamp means artists get paid fairly as well as minimizing the server pollution of constant streaming. A small way to push back against #spotifysploitation and truly #payartists. A year and a half after switching from Spotify to Apple Music (still streaming), Iโm finally working on reconstructing my owned music library, one album at a time.
Over the last 10 years Iโve added very little to my old music library because I used streaming almost exclusively. So it is quite a journey of nostalgia re-discovering so much music I listened to and loved so long ago.
And slowly sorting through the old collection and adding each album intentionally gives me a nice moment to enjoy it fully before I rebuild my mixes and playlists. Like hugging dear, old friends as they walk through the door for a housewarming party.
