STERILE MALES

There's a pilot project to reduce Tiger Mosquito population using the Sterile Male technique in #Bologna, Italy.

After several years of tests, since May they have released almost 2 million sterile male mosquitos in an area of 100 hectares.

Monitoring is done with ovitraps (no data yet).

The project is run by the "Centro Agricola Ambiente Giorgio Nicoli", who raise, select, and liberate the mosquitos.
