I miss my daily walks with Nuis! π The weather is so lovely right now, deliciously cold and calm. I forced myself out to go for a slow wander on my own. There were redshanks and mergansers and wowser views, but it's not the same without my buddy. I hope that it won't be too long before we are prowling about together again. β€οΈ
Bit of a mixed bag at the weekend for my #ActiveEveryday / #OutsideEveryDay efforts.
Random rainstorms stopped play on Saturday but yesterday was brighter: I did 7km across inner city #Leeds then @johnl and I walked a 10km loop around Temple Newsam & down to Skelton Lake.
Today was lovely again: I went for an 8km walk with our neighbour, around some country lanes and one very flooded footpath.
It's cool but bright at the moment - perfect walking weather imho.
Between a sinus headache and rain, I skipped an #ActiveEveryDay day yesterday but made up for it today, with 20mins of yoga this morning, walking the 2.5km into the village (yay) for a haircut (ugh) at lunchtime and a 6km sunset loop to some scrubland @johnl was interested in visiting this evening.
Today's walk took me over towards Scammonden Reservoir - a 7km loop via my favourite farm which usually has barn cats sunbathing outside of it. Today, there weren't any cats but there was a napping pink pig.
On the way, I had to re-route away from my preferred path as the local dairy farmers were collecting grass. I love the ballet: two massive tractors moving around in unison. They had three trailers they were swapping out too.
Walked up a local hill today. It was a little hazy across the valley as I set off but I thought I was "making the most of the nice weather" by going up the hill. It was only when I came back down and turned around that I realised I'd been walking in the clouds π€£
(In hindsight, it had smelled freshly wet up there, even if it hadn't felt/looked like it.)
Out and about this afternoon carrying out a belated eider survey. No eiders were spotted of course, but lots of gannets and curlew about.
@louisa_ Well done! I pottered round the garden whilst wheezing and sneezing.
I'm so grateful to have a garden to be ill in ..... and healthy, of course.
