So, this all started with a short video ad on Facebook, which was also shot at a stupid angle so that nothing meaningful was visible.

This is 54mm, but a 58mm portafilter might have been better.

So, this was in an #Outin #Espresso machine ad (23s) from a while back and it seems to be some custom thing from whoever as they weren't disclosing any info on this. It's hard to make out what exactly it is, apart from the obvious custom stand (or it might be something readily available) but the double sprout thingy might be a bottomless portafilter adapter, although there seems to be some other metal thing above it where it is attached to. The device seems to barely fit in a portafilter opening

I completely forgot about this #Outin portable #Espresso device. As I saw from the reviews, it seems to hold 3 times worth of charge when it needs to heat the water by itself (one of the fancy features they promote). I've used it twice before one of which was a failure and now the battery is depleted.

The portable #OutIn #Espresso #Coffee machine is actually good enough. Hoffman was just a nitpick. Although the device is a bit of a puzzle and certainly not for the elderly. Continuous need for charging is another problem. I made a mistake at the first time as I didn’t read the sticker on the side, which triggered immediate extraction and that was awful.

I don’t see myself traveling with it, on the other hand.

“The #Outin Nano: Is Portable #Espresso Finally Solved?”

Spoiler: according to James Hoffman, no, it sucks. But of course he doesn’t actually say that and does lots of Britishism instead.

Amazon reviews are somewhat positive, but it is easy to see a device that tiny can’t really match the real deal. Seems to be a good alternative for people living in desolate places and pilots though.
