Just home from seeing this surprising play with fine performances from all actors at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Highly recommend it. Seats still available for January 21 thru 24.

Natasha Mumba’s debut play showcases a cast of Zambian and Canadian actors who take us from downtown Toronto to Zambia’s Copperbelt region to untangle the inner workings of the Kasuba family, their secrets, and their intriguing legacy. Deftly investigating geopolitical and familial power structures through insightful commentary and crackling dialogue, this world premiere explores the clash between personal aspirations, familial expectations, and the steep price some must pay for success.

Edit for specific location.

An NAC English Theatre/Soulpepper Theatre co-production   What if putting family first was the last thing you wanted to do? Meet Eden, a junior operations manager at a high-powered international mining firm in Toronto, her freshly divorced bigwig boss/boyfriend, and her estranged wealthy family. She can change her name, but can she truly break free from the grip her family has...

Hey Ottawa folks!

Come join us in an hour at Place d'Orleans for Kilowatts and Coffee! https://evco.ca/event/evco-kilowatts-coffee-95/

Just hang out and chat with people. You can ask questions about EVs, other nerdy topics, or just the weather we've been having lately. No pressure and no agenda. 🙂

Ottawa Small Press Book Fair tomorrow! I had so much fun last time that I can't wait to go back. There will be some fantastic authors there this weekend, and I will also have plenty of Blind Date with The Book Purge bundles, so there'll be something for everyone. Plus, it's a great chance to get yourself a little treat, or do some Xmas shopping for the book lover in your life.

This Saturday, November 8, come on out to Kichesippi Beer Co. to grab a book and a beer! I'll be there with some fabulous local authors from 1pm from 4pm. And even if you're not in the market for a new book (blasphemy!) come hang out!

At CanCon this weekend? Find us in the vendor room throughout the con, as well as at the Friday night publisher party, pitch sessions, and the "Publisher Red Flags" panel on Saturday.

Don't miss Stelliform authors Geoffrey W. Cole, Mahaila Smith, and Lynn Hutchinson Lee on panels all weekend.

I am so excited to have The Ottawa Horror Club join the party! After months of creeping the club online, I finally joined in November of last year and I'm so glad I did. Jenna has brought together a wonderful community of horror fans and plans fun get-togethers each month so we can hang out. Maybe after tomorrow night, you'll be a club member too 😉

Remember to grab your tickets at bytowne.ca while you can 👻
